San Francisco International Piano Competition – Preliminary Round

The Preliminary Round of the San Francisco International Piano Competition is a live performance round held at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. This important stage brings together selected participants from various age categories to perform in front of a distinguished panel of judges.

Each contestant presents a prepared solo program, and is evaluated on technical proficiency, musical interpretation, stage presence, and overall artistry. The live setting ensures an authentic concert experience and allows the jury to assess performers in real time.

Finalists selected from this round will advance to the Final Round of the competition, also held in San Francisco, where they will compete for top prizes and performance opportunities.
