Piano Performance Forums I
Bay PianoFest 2025

Piano Performance Forums is a distinctive, interactive group class designed to foster artistic growth through performance and open dialogue. In each session, three talented young artists present their repertoire, performing in front of an audience that includes four distinguished guest artists and faculty members.

The forum creates a unique environment where performance meets discussion—after each performance, the guest artists and faculty provide thoughtful feedback, share interpretive insights, and discuss technical and stylistic considerations. This collaborative format encourages young musicians to reflect deeply on their artistry while benefiting from the expertise of seasoned professionals.

Led by renowned pianist and educator Professor Yoshikazu Nagai, Chair of the Piano Department at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, these forums offer an invaluable opportunity for emerging pianists to develop their musical voices, engage in meaningful artistic exchange, and gain perspectives that extend beyond traditional masterclasses.

Open to both participants and observers, Piano Performance Forums exemplify Bay PianoFest’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of concert artists through immersive, community-oriented learning experiences.
